To me, being a VYT means constantly bettering myself and learning new things. Since I’ve started as a VYT, I’ve learned that I am fully capable of handling anything on my own.
I could do #FIRST internship, #FIRST gelato, #FIRST study abroad, #FIRST Paris trip and many more but the one that jumps to the front of mind is my #FIRST city-living experience..
To be honest, the first two weeks of being in Florence was a struggle. Everything was so new, inconvenient, and foreign but this is when you grow. The last month has been a cluster of ups and downs but my #FIRST that i'd like to highlight is my very own apartment!
Since coming to Florence, my life has been FULL of #FIRSTS. I am living by myself for the #FIRST time, 5,563 miles away from home. I started my #FIRST budget. I saw my #FIRST Italian opera, La Traviata. And, VIAJIYU is my #FIRST internship.
After two years of working with VIAJIYU in their original Sydney office, then remotely in London, I was invited to the Florence HQ.
Lee was VIAJIYU's #FIRST #VYT, before the work experience program even had a name or its own Instagram feed. Or, the office had lights. Lee used to work in the dark by the glow of her laptop.
Lee changed Nic's life. Lee saved #VIAJIYU.
Katherine discovered VIAJIYU, thanks to her professor at Kent State.
Her brief: Create new D’Orsay + Mule Flats for #VIAJIYU.
I couldn't continue my studies in Florence for the second semester. Family needed me home. I accomplished so much in so little time. Yet, there was still one thing I did not do in #ITALY: ride a Vespa scooter.
Prisca has many superpowers. Her star power: She’s an official drone pilot. She studied and passed the Italian license exam, one of the hardest in the world. Now, she’s flown her drone on three continents: Africa, Europe and North America collecting amazing video footage.
